Building Insulation Products Laminated EPS Insulation

Garage Door Insulation Kit

Cellofoam’s Garage Door Insulation Kit is a do-it-yourself garage door thermal insulation kit for homeowners that is sold through several distributors including The Home Depot®. This product is made of an expanded polystyrene (EPS) insulation core with a tough, puncture resistant, white, washable, high impact polystyrene facer laminated on one side. Cellofoam’s Garage Door Insulation Kit reduces heat transfer through your garage door, which may help lower energy costs and make your garage more comfortable.

Cellofoam’s Garage Door Insulation Kit contains eight insulation sheets measuring 1¼” x 20” x 54” and covers 60 sft, adequate to insulate a typical 9 ft wide residential garage door. Larger doors require additional kits.

The core of Cellofoam’s Garage Door Insulation Kit is made of premium EPS foam, which is composed of closed cells with excellent dimensional stability, compressive strength, and water resistance. The core EPS meets or exceeds the requirements of ASTM C578, Standard Specification for Rigid, Cellular Polystyrene Thermal Insulation.

Advantages

One Size Fits Most Doors

Cellofoam’s Garage Door Insulation Kit contains 8 insulation sheets measuring 1¼” x 20” x 54” and covers 60 sq ft, adequate to insulate a typical 9 ft wide residential garage door. Larger doors require additional kits.

Premium Quality

The EPS core of Cellofoam's Garage Door Insulation Kit meets or exceeds ASTM C578 specs for Type I EPS. As with all of our building insulation products, this foam contains a fire retardant.

High, Stable R-value

Cellofoam’s Garage Door Insulation Kit contributes an R-value of about 4.6 at 75 deg F and about 5.0 at 40 deg F. The R-value of EPS is permanent because the only gas in EPS is air. Unlike Polyiso or XPS whose blowing agents outgas and therefore lose R-value, EPS R-values do not degrade over decades of use.

Mold and Mildew Resistant

As shown by third party independent testing of expanded polystyrene (EPS) rigid foam insulation to ASTM C1338.

Moisture Resistant

Cellofoam EPS is quick drying and does not readily absorb moisture from the air. Its closed-cell structure reduces the absorption and migration of moisture.

Environmentally Friendly

Cellofoam EPS contains no formaldehyde or ozone-depleting CFCs or HCFCs. Its EPS core is 100% recyclable and may contain recycled material.
